RoadWise is a free program for young drivers 14-19, emphasizing the importance of wearing a seat belt, making good decisions behind the wheel and not driving distracted.

Participants follow the path they would take after being seriously injured in a car crash by visiting the Emergency Room, Radiology, Intensive Care and Physical Therapy. Lunch is spent with young people who have sustained a brain or spinal cord injury as a result of a motor vehicle crash. They share their stories and stress the importance of making safe decisions while driving. The Missouri Highway Patrol present their experiences working crash sites on Missouri Roads and the daunting task of making death notifications to families.

Participants are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for check-in and must present their photo ID. The class is free of charge.

Lunch is not provided. Registrants may purchase lunch in the Research Medical Center cafeteria.
