The Research Foundation awards radiologic and nuclear medicine technology scholarships

The Research Foundation has awarded nine scholarships to radiologic and nuclear medicine technology students enrolled in the Research Medical Center Schools of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and the radiologic technology program at Penn Valley Community College.

Scholarship recipients in the Research Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine include Lindsey Durden, Casper Ferger, Rolando Leon and Spencer Salley.

Scholarship recipients enrolled in the radiologic technology program at Penn Valley Community College include Whitney Rhoades and Lana Shoemake.

Scholarship recipients in the Research Medical Center School of Radiology include Ashley Brocksmith, Hannah O’Neil-Keele and Heidi Strobel.

Strobel was awarded the Sarah Wilson Thompson Memorial Scholarship, which was established in 1999 in memory of Sarah Wilson Thompson, a radiologic technologist at Research Medical Center and graduate of their radiologic technology program in 1993. Sarah lost her battle with lymphoma shortly after completing the program. The $1,000 scholarship is The Research Foundation’s highest award available to radiology students.

Each year, students who attend the radiologic or nuclear medicine technology program at Penn Valley Community College, Research Medical Center School of Radiology, Research Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or the University of Kansas Medical Center Nuclear Medicine Certificate Program are eligible to apply for scholarships through The Research Foundation. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and should apply by April 1.
