Employees Contributing To Help Others

The ECHO Team's Lifeline After Injury

“People go through health problems, and I never imagined I would not be able to work. So, I encourage everyone to donate to the ECHO Team because you will not know when you might need it.”

A Research employee injured their knee and can’t work for four months until it heals. If the injury requires surgery, more time off work will be needed.

“The injury to my knee really affected by my life because I take care of everything for my family.”

The employee has three children, including a 17-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 4-year-old with special needs, who receives specific care. Without income, caring for their children also became difficult. Rent, utility bills, — it all began stacking up.

“I applied for the Employee Assistance Fund after I injured my knee and could not work. The funds that I received helped me a lot with the bills I’m behind on.”

The ECHO Team was established to help Research employees in situations like this. Through the ECHO Team, The Research Foundation’s Employee Assistance Fund helped this employee get back on their feet.

“I’ve been working since I was 16 and never had a problem through my 40s. You will never know what will happen tomorrow. People go through health problems, and I never imagined I would not be able to work. So, I encourage everyone to donate to the ECHO Team because you will not know when you might need it.”
