The Research Foundation awards scholarships to allied health students in Kansas City region

Doctor of Physical Therapy student

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Jun. 14, 2022) – The Research Foundation has awarded $48,500 in scholarships to allied health students studying physical therapy, radiologic technology, and nuclear medicine technology in the Kansas City region.

Eligible students were enrolled in the doctor of physical therapy programs at Rockhurst University, the University of Kansas, or the University of Missouri-Columbia as well as the Research Medical Center Schools of Nuclear Medicine and Radiologic Technology.

Scholarship recipients from the doctor of physical therapy program at Rockhurst University include Lindsey Boord, Samantha Bostick, Connor Cotton, Gwen Kibbe, Brooke Kremer, Kelsey Ortinau, and Ryan Sieben.

Scholarship recipients from the doctor of physical therapy program at the University of Kansas include Autumn Adams, Jennifer Campos, Christine Cunningham, Lindsay Garcia, Chelsey Henry, Logan Johnsen, Talyn Kleweno, Frances Korer, Kelly Partington, Julianna Peters, and Tarah Phongsavath,

Scholarship recipients from the doctor of physical therapy program at the University of Missouri-Columbia include Kyla Andersen, Mari Biers, Austin Brooks, Hannah Criswell, Tristan Farnen, Joseph Febus, Shae Gilbert, Jeremiah Heckman, Andrew Hedges, Irina Heitmann, Colten Jensen, Breanna Kempker, Grace Komaromi, Madison McClure, Ian McCluskey, Kylie Miller, Kayelee Smith, Sarah Swainston, and Michael Wolski.    

Scholarship recipients enrolled in the Research Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine Technology include Abbigale Apeldoorn, Ashley Burt, and Dylan Cooper.

Scholarship recipients in the Research Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology include Nafisatu Bangura, Justin Berry, Natalie Cooley, Amanda Hass, Kristin Hayes, Chloe Kampe, Courtney Kinzel, Marki Klockow, Kyndalyn Lewis, Abigail Sterns, Cheyenne Wheeler, and Alexis Yount.

Kinzel was awarded the Sarah Wilson Thompson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in 1999 in memory of Sarah Wilson Thompson, a radiologic technologist at Research Medical Center and graduate of their radiologic technology program in 1993. Sarah lost her battle with lymphoma shortly after completing the program.
