KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Nov. 6, 2023) – The Research Foundation’s donors and supporters captured the importance of nursing on Saturday, November 4 at the 15th Research Royal Dinner & Auction, Portraits of Nursing. The event raised more than $180,000 for The Research Foundation’s nursing student scholarship program. Every dollar will be awarded to those accepted into the nursing programs as Avila University, Research College of Nursing, and William Jewell College.
The Research Royal Dinner & Auction included cocktails, dinner, and entertainment by DJ Ice Kole. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a 50/50 raffle, wine pull, and silent auction.
Charnai Banks, a senior at Research College of Nursing and recipient of a traditional or transfer Bachelor of Science in nursing (TBSN) scholarship from the foundation, shared remarks about her journey to nursing school and what The Research Foundation’s scholarship has helped her achieve. Research College of Nursing Class of 2002 graduate, Michaela Logan, provided the invocation.
Top sponsors included Research Medical Center, UMB Bank, and LabCorp. Other major sponsors include J.E. Dunn Construction and David E. Ross Construction. Dr. Megan Garcia served as the chair of the event.
The Research Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate nursing students in Kansas City each year. The foundation awarded more than $248,620 to students at Avila University, Research College of Nursing, and William Jewell College for the 2023-2024 academic year.
